Uncapped ADSL
Most uncapped ADSL advertised are shaped, meaning priority is given to certain protocols.
Email, FTP, conventional downloads like documents are not affected by shaped ADSL.
Online gaming, video downloads, Skype and trading platforms will be slower in a shaped ADSL.
Expensive, unshaped ADSL is still very expensive. Don't confuse uncapped with unshaped.
The standard in uncapped ADSL pricing right now, and that offered by the likes of MWEB, Afrihost, Gamco, Kingsley etc is at between R195 and R199 per month for an uncapped ADSL connection. Most offer up to a 384KBPS service... This is still very slow and even if you have like some upgraded your ADSL connection to a 4Meg line, you will still only get 384KBPS. The faster lines are generally for business users with unshaped ADSL which costs anything between R2000 and R6000 per month.
